The  Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools has honored Kenilworth Science and Technology School in Baton Rouge as the 2020 Innovative Education Award recipient. The award was given for their in-house programming of the 'KST Success Portal' that improves student and parent online-access to school curriculum, testing and grades. The platform is an all-in-one stop for students and parents to track academic progress of students easily.

The Innovative Education Award, one of LAPCS' Charter School Annual Excellence Awards, recognizes a charter school that has successfully implemented an innovative practice in academics, finance & operations, or governance that has moved the school forward in a positive direction.

The award was presented virtually via a video this year by Executive Director, Caroline Roemer as part of the charter school's statewide conference. "Kenilworth is an inspiring place innovating STEM programming for their students," said LAPCS Director Roemer. "Kenilworth's team won the award for coding a centralized portal to share individual data with students and parents. We honored Kenilworth for spearheading systems that provide transparency for families to be plugged into their student's education."
"This award celebrates what our motto is at Kenilworth: We transform education through innovation, technology and dedication," said Executive Director Suzuk. Suzuk explains that the 'KST Success Portal' utilizes Google For Education platform and Google Apps Script which creates a secure and easily customizable platform based on our ever-changing needs.

Along with the award, the school received a $3,500 prize and banner sponsored by Gallagher.
